Great design, vision and craftsmanship. Its not often you see such great creativity matched with great web craftmentship

Last week saw the unveiling of a beta version of the new look bbc homepage, however what managed to slip under the radar was a drastic change of the radio 1 website.
Im normally a fan off any thing new and innovative in web design, but I think the UX team at the bbc have lost there way a little bit.
The new timeline feature seems clunky and unintuitive, and just leaves me a little underwhelmed. What also concerns me is the lack of content on the homepage, try turning images off in your browser and you will notice how little information there actually is.
However on the positive side this does show that the markup on the site is extremely well designed, with thought defiantly taken to accessibility and screen readers. This is also the case if you disable java script, the site does fall back nicely with minimum impact to the user, however this then limits the level off content even more on the homepage.
My opinion is that the UI coding off the new site is top notch however the UX lets it down what do you think ?
